The banter between Bale and Hathaway who seems to be having a ball in full vixen mode provides much-needed relief from the story's otherwise overpoweringly grim nature. Visually stunning, incredibly acted, and unyieldingly intense, The Dark Knight Rises is one of the rare movies for which the huge budget, super-sized runtime almost three hours , and undying ardor of fans are well deserved.
Families can talk about the amount of violence in The Dark Knight Rises. How does it compare to what you've seen in other superhero movies? The Dark Knight Rises. Popular with kids Parents recommend. Bale's final Batman is as gritty and dark as the first two. PG minutes. Rate movie. Nonetheless, if you remove them from the movie, The Dark Knight is average at best. A movie with a superior story can still work without great bad-guys. V for Vendetta has a cast where everyone from top to bottom was incredible with a tale that vastly superior. The scores on Rotten Tomatoes both Tomatometer and Audience score prove that. But his Batman is barely above Val Kilmer.
Go back and watch The Dark Knight with fresh eyes. The big part of the film were the people of Gotham. They had to rise up and take their city back. Of course Batman inspired them. The visual of the Bat-Plane at the end was enough.
We could have gone the entire film without actually seeing Batman and the result would have been the same. The story flowed and had deeper moments without him. That said, did that take away from him as an antagonist?
He did something that no other villain did. Bane broke the bat. He delivered a beating that few heroes have gotten. Then, he removed Batman from the equation and took over Gotham. Not even the U.
